The Short Deck

Fourteen who rule from Warwick · power in one room
🗼 How to read the deck — and why it is so short This is the shortest deck in the hall, by design — and its brevity is the whole point. Where every other group spreads power across primates, courts, dynasties and pulpits, Jehovah's Witnesses concentrate all authority in a single Governing Body of about eleven men in Warwick, New York — whom they call "the faithful and discreet slave" — and deliberately reject any veneration of individuals. There are no celebrities here, no bishops, no dynasties; even the corporate "presidents" are administrators, not leaders. So a deck of ~52 would be a fiction. This is the real roster of power: fourteen names, and the first eleven rule as equals (the chairmanship rotates yearly), ranked here only by seniority.
♠ Spades — The Governing Body. The eleven who rule ("the faithful and discreet slave").
♦ Diamonds — The Corporations. The legal entities that hold the property & fight the cases.
✓ Every one of the 14 was verified online as living and serving on 2026-07-24. The check caught that Anthony Morris III was removed from the Governing Body in 2023 — a name a from-memory deck would still be carrying — and confirmed the four members added in 2023–2024. Re-verify each name at every audit.
