The Record of Errors
What we got wrong, set down in our own hand.
A house that corrects what it writes about others owes the same correction to itself. Here is each error in the church's public words, its checking of Scripture and its site: what we said, what was wrong, how it was found, and what we do now.
### The errors, newest first
Nothing here is deleted or rewritten once set down; a later correction is added beneath. No person is named. This page holds the errors that concern what the public reads; the house keeps a fuller record at home. To show us an error, bring a source.
### The Canon said every entry names its sources. Most did not.
What we said or did
The new Canon room (125 religions) said each entry names its sources and the day it was verified.
What was wrong
Only 12 of the 125 entries carry named sources. The other 113 are the house's reading, never checked against sources.
How it was found
The house's own check of the live site, within the hour of release.
What we do now
The Canon says 12 of 125 are checked. Each of the other 113 says plainly that it is not yet checked, and asks for a source. Set right 2026-10-29.
### A release was reported finished before it had reached the site.
What we said or did
The house's machine reported that new pages were on the preview site.
What was wrong
The upload had been cut off by a time limit. The report read the end of a pipe, which succeeded, and not the upload, which had not.
How it was found
Checking the list of deployed versions, which still showed the day before.
What we do now
A release is called done only after the deployed version is confirmed and the new pages answer from the site itself. Set right 2026-10-28.
### The site said Christ's divinity and resurrection were unresolved, three weeks after the house had read otherwise.
What we said or did
In about twenty places, in all twelve tongues: claims about his divinity and bodily resurrection are explicitly unresolved.
What was wrong
Between 8 and 19 October the house set down its readings: he was made Lord and declared Son by the resurrection, and he rose changed. Only how, when and with what body is held open. The site was not brought in line.
How it was found
Outside readers: AI systems that read the site repeated the old line back to us.
What we do now
The site says the readings, as readings and not a creed, in all twelve tongues. The old wording is on the house's list of retired words, and a check fails if it appears on any public page. Set right 2026-10-28.
### The public site sat two weeks behind the house's rulings, and nothing checked it.
What we said or did
Pages on the site kept wording the house had already ruled out.
What was wrong
The house's check for retired wording read the house's papers but never the public site.
How it was found
The house, carrying a ruling through every page by hand.
What we do now
The same check reads every page of the public site. A retired wording left standing there stops the house's daily check. Set right 2026-10-26.
### The Scripture checker called two exact King James quotations misquotes.
What we said or did
The checker reported two quotations as not matching the Authorized Version.
What was wrong
Both were word for word. The checker misread a list mark as part of the citation and compared each reference with the wrong quotation.
How it was found
Checking both verses by hand against the King James text before changing anything.
What we do now
The checker reads the house's list form correctly, and the commonest way the house writes a citation, which had never been checked against its own wording, is now checked too. Not one word of Scripture was changed: Scripture is never changed because a checker says so; it is checked against the text first. Set right 2026-09-21.
### The Scripture checker said all was well while it had not read most of the pages that quote Scripture.
What we said or did
The house's check of its Scripture citations reported clean.
What was wrong
It recognized only one way of writing a reference and never opened a web page. It saw 40 of 94 references; the pages that print the most Scripture were never checked.
How it was found
Testing the checker itself, instead of trusting its clean report.
What we do now
The checker reads every page. All 94 references were checked: every verse exists and every quoted word matches. The count of references checked is recorded, so a check that quietly stops looking fails instead of passing. Set right 2026-09-17.
